Daily Sam
We're going into something like our 21st day in a row of 100+ temps here in Oklahoma...it's hot hot HOT. Sammers' splash pad helps keep him cool. He loves it!

SFA World Tour
Maybe not so much a world tour as it was a week long tour of the OKC Metropolitan Library System but what a whirlwind - 14 16 shows in 5 days (Wiser was quick to correct the number of shows I mentioned). Wowsers.
On Thursday, Sammy went to not one, not two, but three of daddy's shows! He was such a trooper!

8! Months! Old!
It's going so fast! I promise I'm not totally ignoring the blog; my mobile uploading hasn't been working. To make amends, here are a couple of videos:
We took Sammers to the Perdue Compound for his 1st swim on Memorial Day. He totally loved it. I'm pretty sure he was trying to convince us he could swim if we would just let go of him. He kicked and splashed and kept sticking his face in the water causing me to nag Wiser about keeping his face out of the water. It was a whole vicious cycle. But Sammy loved it.
And now, Sammy thinks he's Elvis...
I promise he does have shirts and usually is dressed...you know how dinner goes with a 7 month old. Oops, 8 month old. Sheesh.

Wherein I Get Totally Sappy
Happy 1st Father's Day, Wiser. You're welcome for birthing your son. It wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done but so totally worth it. I knew you would be a great daddy but I have to admit I underestimated just how tender and kind and doting you would be.
Watching you be Samuel's Daddy has created in me new levels of appreciation and admiration and affection (and apparently alliteration) for you. I savor the moments I get to just watch you and him, playing together, teaching and learning from each other. I mourn that my dad never got to meet our sweet boy but I have no doubt that everything that was wonderful about my dad exists in you and you will make sure that Samuel learns to treasure the same things Mike did.
